The 4th of July is a favorite holiday in my household! Fireworks, fun and family time! Everyone has their own traditions whether it be heading to the lake, watching a fireworks display with the neighbors or going to a family reunion, there are always great memories to be made.
It is also a good time for reflection on the true meaning of Independence Day which I myself sometimes take for granted. The birth of the United States of America! It is an opportunity for people in the United States to express and give thanks for the freedoms and liberties fought by the first generation of many of today’s Americans.
Our forefathers worked through strife, fear and the ‘bullies’ of their time to prevail in establishing this great country. Today, there is so much to admire about our great nation from advanced technology to the rights we are able to exercise daily. America is worth celebrating!

We have a lot to be proud of living and working in Grimes as well. A great place to live, play and run a business. We live in a fantastic community and can be thankful to our founding fathers for the blessings given us. A growing community rooted in small town traditions. One that cares for one another and provides opportunities for all to grow with it.
Hopefully you will have the chance to spend some quality time with friends and family this holiday whether it be having a bbq or attending a baseball game. However, you relax or celebrate this week/weekend, remember to take a moment to give thanks to our founding fathers and the sacrifices the first Americans made so that we may have the choices and privileges we have today
