2025 has been an interesting year to say the least, and I think we can all agree it has been anything but slow. It seems like only yesterday we were in the dog days of summer, school was right around the corner, and the air conditioner was working overtime. Now, it’s time for hoodies, pumpkin-spiced everything, and fall sports that fill our nights and weekends.

While fall is one of my favorite times of year, it also comes with a reminder that winter, and that dreaded four-letter word, snow, isn’t far behind. In the construction world, that first burst of cool air is usually a signal: the countdown to the last good weather days has begun. The scramble to get as much done before the bad weather hits is on. Activity always picks up as people rush to finish projects before the snow flies. Hopefully, that same burst of cool air inspires the people of Grimes to get out and enjoy everything our community has to offer.

Grimes is a community that’s growing rapidly, and while summer already gave us plenty to enjoy, even more is on the way. The Grimes Chamber & Economic Development, along with the City of Grimes, has put together an incredible Fall/Winter slate of events for residents and visitors alike. The City has even published a full Fall/Winter Guide on their website. Here’s just a sample of what’s ahead this fall:
